Richardson has been a major disappointment since being taken with the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL draft. When he hasn't been injured, Richardson has struggled mightily. That said, he's still only 23 years old and has an intriguing skill set with his big arm and elite speed. The Vikings are set to have a competition for their starting job between Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy after signing the former recently. Chances are Murray is going to win that competition, which could lead to the Vikings trading McCarthy. Head coach Kevin O'Connell has a history of reviving the career of a quarterback and the Vikings could acquire Richardson and have him sit behind Murray in the hopes they can develop him into at least a quality backup. With Aaron Rodgers not having made a decision yet, there remains a po sibility he decides to retire. If that happens, trading for Richardson and adding him to a quarterbacks room that would include Will Howard and Mason Rudolph would make sense for Pittsburgh. With only Chris Oladokun and Jake Haener signed at quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City doesn't have a good situation in the event Mahomes isn't ready for the start of the season .
